Comic: Obi-Wan and Anakin #1

Got through this first issue a couple of days ago but only now I had the time to post it.. It’s one of the new graphic novels set in the Star Wars universe (there are never enough of these if you ask me! XD) and it’s written by Charles Soule, art by Marco Checchetto and published by Marvel.

As I’m a little lazy at the moment I’ll leave the official synopses for this one XP “Before their military heroism in the Clone Wars, before their tragic battle on Mustafar, and many decades before their confrontation on the Death Star… they were Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Padawan learner, Anakin Skywalker…. Set between the events of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace and Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, it’s been a few years since Obi-Wan pledged to train young Anakin. Though they have grown closer through training, the road has been a difficult one. Now, called to a remote planet for assistance, Master and Padawan’s skills will be put to the test. And their relationship will be pushed to the breaking point.

Before they became brothers-in-arms during the Clone Wars, be there as Soule and Checchetto weave a tale of the Jedi at the height of their power, and the foundations of their doomed friendship. It all starts this January” – from Marvel website

That pretty much sums what happens in this first issue, Obi-wan and Anakin are called to a remote planet by a distress signal that uses some form of encryption used by ancient jedi but crash-land as they enter the atmosphere (anakin’s piloting skill weren’t as sharp back then I guess XP). They find a desolated and cold planet that was ravaged by wars untill all life was destroyed.. or that’s what they thought untill an air battle between zeppelin like armada appear right in front of them and they’re left to find out what is really happening there! Jedi sherlock services to the rescue! XDD

Well, what more can I say? A Marvel logo on it is a synonymous of quality of course so the art is top-notch but can’t say much of the story by now, hopefully it’ll develop in some cool adventure and show us some more of all that happened between the movies! I really like these kind of gap fillers! ^_^
