Summer season’s upon us!

At long last the new batch of wonderous anime has arrived to relieve us from summer’s boredom! Or so I would say a couple of years ago when I was actually able to run out of anime to watch as I has little more to do besides that XP Right now I’ve got so many in my “eventually-watch-this-before-you-kick-the-bucket-list” that it’s probably impossible to ever catch up…. but, alas, that is no reason to stop picking up new material to add to the pile like some crazy hoarder! XD

Thankfully (I guess??) as I grow older my choices also become more refined and strict in a way that I don’t end up trying to watch every single one that comes out! Here are my picks from summer’s season:

.

Shoukugeki no Souma: Ni no Sara

.

.

Even if it’s one of those niche animes I’ve watched the first season and it was awesome so it’s only natural to continue.

.

Berserk (2016)

.

.

“Guts, known as the Black Swordsman, seeks sanctuary from the demonic forces that pursue him and his woman, and also vengeance against the man who branded him as an unholy sacrifice. Aided only by his titanic strength, skill, and sword, Guts must struggle against his bleak destiny, all the while fighting with a rage that might strip him of his humanity. Berserk is a dark and brooding story of outrageous swordplay and ominous fate, in the theme of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.” – myanimelist

The inspiration for Dark Souls and one of the best stories out there finally gets the adaptation the fans so long-awaited for!

.

D.Gray-man Hallow

.

.

“Toward the end of the 19th century, Allen Walker officially joins the organization of Exorcists that destroy the beings known as Akuma; mechanic weapons made by the Millennium Earl with the suffering souls of the dead. Allen has both a cursed eye and an anti-Akuma weapon as an arm, bearing the power of “Innocence,” a gift given to him as an apostle of God. Allen, along with his fellow Exorcists must put a stop to the Millennium Earl’s ultimate plot that could lead to the destruction of the world and all who live on it.” – myanimelist

As Bersek, D. Gray-man was left incomplete years ago but it seems that the time has come to get the follow up with the bonus of better animations!

.

Mob Psycho 100

.

.

“Kageyama Shigeo (a.k.a. “Mob”) is a 8th grader with psychic abilities. He could bend spoons and lift objects with his mind from a young age, but he slowly began to withhold from using his abilities in public due to the negative attention he kept receiving. Now, the only thing he wants is to become friends with a girl in his class, Tsubomi. With his psychic “mentor” (who has no psychic powers), he continues his daily life, attempting to realize his purpose in life.” – myanimelist

.

Taboo Tattoo

.

.

“Seigi, a martial arts trained middle schooler, often feels driven to protect the weaker people around him. One day, he defends a homeless man against some punks, and the man gives him a strange tattoo on his palm in return. The tattoo is a secret weapon produced in the arms race between America and the Serinistan Kingdom.

Seigi finds himself in over his head when a powerful girl, using the same secret weapon, violently pursues him in order to retrieve it. His skill at martial arts may not be enough to keep him alive, but will he be able to learn how to trigger the power of his tattoo in time?” – myanimelist

.

Tales of Zestiria the X

.

.

“Sorey is a human youth who grew up among the seraphim, spiritual beings not visible to humans. Sorey believes in the folklore that says “long ago, every human was able to see the seraphim” and dreams of unraveling the ancient mystery to make the world a place where people and seraphim can live together in peace.

One day, Sorey visits the human capital for the very first time. He becomes embroiled in an incident during which he pulls out a holy sword embedded in a rock and ends up becoming a Shepherd, one who casts away calamity from the world. He begins to realize the gravity of his mission, and his dream of coexistence between mankind and the seraphim becomes more intense—

And thus, the Shepherd embarks on an amazing journey with his companions.” – myanimelist

.

91 Days

.

.

“During Prohibition, the law held no power and the mafia ruled the town.

The story takes place in Lawless, a town thriving on black market sales of illicitly brewed liquor. Avilio returns to Lawless after some time away, following the murder of his family in a mafia dispute there.

One day, Avilio receives a letter from a mysterious sender, prompting him to return to Lawless for revenge. He then infiltrates the Vanetti family, the ones responsible for his family’s murder, and sets about befriending the don’s son, Nero, to set his vengeance in motion.

Killing brings more killing, and revenge spawns more revenge. How will the 91-day story of these men guided by a tragic fate end?” – myanimelist

.

There are one or two more that I might take a peek at to see if their worth the time but for starters this is pretty much it! Also it might not be so bad to only watch them later on (after clearing those from the spring season and before that… XP) because at least there’s no waiting for next week to get a new ep, you can binge it all at once!
